Save Marlow's Green Belt AGM 30th October and Fundraising
Little Marlow Parish Council
Save Marlow Green Belt AGM Wednesday 30th October 2024, 7.30pm at Liston Hall Chapel Street, Marlow, SL7 1DD
As you have no doubt heard, Dido, the developers behind the film studios scheme have appealed the decision taken by Buckinghamshire Councils Strategic Sites Committee in May 2024 to refuse planning permission. The Planning Inspectorate has subsequently announced that the appeal will be reviewed by public inquiry. The government has also decided that due to the scale of the proposed development the decision has now been ‘recovered. This means that the Secretary of State will review the Planning Inspectors report and then make a decision. The inquiry will open at 10.00 Tuesday 21January 2025 and is scheduled to last 16 days 21-24 January, 28-31 January 4-7 February and 11-14 February. Bucks Council have appointed a KC to represent them at the inquiry and have stated that they plan to vigorously defend the decision of refusal.
SMG continues to work with The Marlow Society, CPRE, Joy Morrissey MP, LMRA and Little Marlow Parish Council to battle this threat and both Little Marlow Parish Council and SMG have been granted Rule 6 status to be represented at the inquiry.
SMG DESPERATELY NEEDS FUNDS to fight the planning appeal submitted by the film developers. These funds are required for barrister representation and other consultant experts to ensure our message is put forwrad in the most robust manner. Your SUPPORT is vital to help us protect our greenbelt.
