Press Release from Buckinghamshire Council

09 October 2020

Coronavirus mobile testing sites for High Wycombe, Buckingham and Marlow

More mobile testing sites will be arriving in Buckinghamshire over the coming week – in High Wycombe, Buckingham and Marlow.

The testing sites will be at:

  • High Wycombe, from Saturday, 10 October for up to two days; and then again on Friday, 16 October for up to three days
  • Buckingham, on Monday, 12 October
  • Marlow, on Wednesday, 14 October for up to two days

Please do not try to book a test unless you have coronavirus symptoms, or unless you have been specifically advised to do so by a medical professional. You can arrange a test for someone else in your household if they have coronavirus symptoms.

Coronavirus symptoms include: a high temperature; a new, continuous cough; a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste. If you think you have symptoms, advice is available at 111.nhs.uk.

Tests at mobile sites should always be booked first and are not available on a ‘drop-in’ basis. Further details of the testing sites will be provided on booking.

To arrange a test, and for the latest guidance, go to www.gov.uk/coronavirus and click on the appropriate link for you within the ‘testing’ section of information. It is also possible to order a home testing kit via the website.

If the mobile testing sites are fully booked, you will be offered testing at the next-closest location.

A testing centre operating in Slough is also currently open to Buckinghamshire residents, for booked-in visits only.

Gareth Williams, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Community Engagement at Buckinghamshire Council, said: “If you have coronavirus symptoms, please book a test as soon as you can and isolate unless you get a ‘negative’ result. It’s really important that everyone in Buckinghamshire remains vigilant and continues to follow the guidance. By working together, we can help stop the spread of the virus, and testing is a vital part of this.”

Dr Raj Bajwa, GP and Chair of NHS Buckinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “Testing is essential to help keep NHS services running smoothly and to help vulnerable people stay as safe as possible from coronavirus infection. These mobile sites offer a great boost to our testing capabilities in Buckinghamshire, so we hope they will be well-used by those that need them.”

The latest guidance around coronavirus can be found at https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus
